Artist's Comments

This was taken on the side balcony of the National Library of Australia [link] .
Whilst shooting this I was influenced by Richard Estes [link] use of reflections, and during editing I got the idea of using neutral density filters (of which there are two) from Youwha [link] .
On top of that, the left side of the image is broken up by the outlines of the shapes behind the glass ( a small car park) which effectively makes this shot three images in one.
What I like about shooting in Canberra is that the city gives you nothing for free, you really have to work to find somewhere nice. But when you find that spot, Canberra doesn’t let you down.

I've just been looking at this for quite a while, trying to decide whether I like it or not. There's something about it, I'm not sure exactly, but I've decided that I do really like it. I'll continue looking at it for a while now :P

I know exactly what you mean. G-Funk and I took this weeks ago and the only reason I started editing it was because people were beginning to wonder if I had quit DA- I had to post something so I thought this would do. But when i was fixing it up I decided I really liked it and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Ahh! You got the symmetry just right here, and it works so well. I like this, the composition is clever and the colours are so rich and vivid, but without the apparent artifacts that are so common to HDR. Very smooth, I must say.
